My 20th birthday
[ 8:25 PM ]
whoa, its the big two-oh.my age now has a 2 infront of it.thats weird. :) i think i'll still b very familiar with identifying myself as 19 at least for a few months lol.
thank u everyone who msged me happy birthday!i didnt reply cos 1. i have no more $ in my pre-paid :( and 2. im booking tables so i want t confirm the place before inviting all of u down to a small bash at Zouk!drinks will b on me :)
i met up w simon, who came down from aust for a short holiday and the rest of the clique in aussie(who are singaporeans).we played dota, lol our obsession that takes over our studying.then i went for bday dinner at The Line at Shangri-la.My GOD LA.was totally awesome buffet.they had an open concept where u saw chefs prepare the food behind counters, some segmented-off with glass.and chefs really interacted with the many gluttons!haha.it was so fun :) when i didnt take any prawns the chef actually asked me why not and then upon finding out i was lazy said he'd peel them for me!!!hahaha.but yeah the fresh lobster, oyster, sashimi(yellowtail, swordfish, salmon, tuna, octopus etc), crayfish, scallops (sitting pretty on the shell) and heaps of other fresh seafood that i myself couldnt identify since some were a little rare?lol felt slightly swa-ku.so u get the idea, vast vast array.and then super nice dishes, one of my fav was the sauteed cod fish in teriyaki sauce!the Italian pasta dishes were really tasty and a good change from the usual cheap asian cusine other hotels like to proffer after the cold dishes.oh the salad bar was quite well done as well.i didnt have space t try the noodle "stall" or much of the abovementioned indian cusine.cooked to order, there was ol'ime favs like duck noodles and what not.the center of attention, in the center of the snazzy restaurant; in hues of orange, white and dashes of blue to represent a liner ship, waitpersons were dressed in sailor uniforms complete with a poofy hat, was the dessert section.copious amounts of small glasses lined the shelves.so many mousses and berry cakes or little jelly thinga-ma-jigs and proper slices of cakes, meringues, a CREPE station!!!!!chocolate truffles and also A ICE CREAM station, cold rock cafe style.toppings mashed into your ice cream. :) chocolate fondue table!very tall fondue fountain...i dropped my first strawberry into its depths.lol.the 2nd attempt was better.choose from strawberries soaked in syrup, made them juicy and sweet or shortbread biscuits on sticks.the fountain flowed with warm slightly bitter chocolate.and then they had small boxes placed on tables!it was for you to take and fill with the teeming drawers of gummies, marshmellows, nuts, chocolates, sour sweets etc!like being in a candy store.i wanna go again and again and again and again.lol.

topping the icing on the cake, the sweet cherry!!my bad luck all washed away, i won verily in mahjong!wahahaha.an impromptu session at rach's neighbour's place.i man tai TWICE ok.lol.best time ever...
becos in contrast,a few days ago, wh asked me not t play.i got visited by my "auntie" and i attended a wake.i didnt listen,so as not t pangseh the 4th leg for my mahjong kakis and i thot shouldnt be too superstitious.so i lost $12!!!!no one else lost more than a dollar, otherwise they won obviously.super sadded..
then out of the goodness of my heart ^ ^ since i promised wh's mom t help her change SGD into RM i went despite having not slept since the mahjong session of 2rounds which took like 7hrs.then it turned out that she wanted t go t malaysia hence the RM.so i got to go with her!was damn fun la :) i cant remember honestly, seeing malaysia and having no recollection!it was like my first time.lol.we got our hair done, permed and trimed.hers looked damn nice, mine not as much :( sigh i might get lionel t fix it.oh well!it was free hehe.but i plan t treat her t dinner or sth, except shes going on another cruise! lol...
