today i woke up my idea! haha..i showed 2 MOHH(Ministry of Health Holdings) employees, and the Chief Dietitian from Alexandra Hospital. It was like a recruitment drive for long term job opportunities.basically singapore's health industry, public health services are going through a revamp from cluster modules to _____. (i forgot) well, anyway, the gist of it is that its a change to enable seamless transition from primary to tertiary to Quaternary care.so that chronic cases can be referred to SGH or NUH where the schools of medicine, Duke and Young Lin are affiliated to, and tertiary care can be given in the same hospital as primary.the shift in direction to upgrade our health care system requires alot more professionals in the industry..
to seek out appropriate officials that the MOHH people could talk to, i brought them around the campus after their talk.it was mind boggling how intricate and complex things behind the scene are.i mean, they even had talks on how to re-integrate a previous program Nanyang Poly had with Curtin for physio therapists to attain the qualifications since the poly's diploma didnt make you a certified physio- what modules need to be included, if the standard can be reached, how the problem of too few clinical placements place could be solved..a program to boost numbers to increase the amount of professionals in singapore. and the talk about supplying enough people to the Youth Olympics and the new Alexandra Hospital(Khoo Teck Puat) in 2010.
so complex right?omg.this is crazy shit.
well, other than realising that alot of work goes behind the scenes, ive changed my mindset alittle.people USED to say uni was all about networking.i never saw it happening.but when i met these MOHH people, they told me they kno the banking people, no problemo.hahaha.obviously it'll be more likely that i'd draw up financial plans for MOHH, the motherfucking big conglomerate and have that iconic civil servant's silver bowl, which would be an easier post to obtain,but..meet people, try to get out there.its not about the grades anymore.
